The London Festival of Architecture is the world’s largest annual architecture festival. The Festival takes place from 1–30 June,featuring exhibitions,installations and many other events. The theme for the 2021 festival is ‘care’.
BACK TO BASICS: LOCAL SUPPLY CHAIN
In recent years we have been becoming more aware of our hazards as humanity to nature throughout history.And our contribution to climate change with our daily consumption habits. We started to realize how living sustainable and local might reverse the negative effects of this long term problem. This year Covid pandemic has reminded us again the importance of locally sourced supply chains for our daily live needs.
This installation aims to point and raise a question on achieving more sustainable shipping methods. That’s why we wanted to propose an exterior installation made from reclaimed shipping pallets to point this issue and raise a question on achieving more sustainable shipping methods. The design will aim to deliver a visually attractive urban object while keeping low maintenance profile, pallets only will be connected to each other with metal wires to provide safety and easy assembly.
